Specialist High Skills Major – The Environment

Specialist High Skills Majors let students focus on a career path that matches their skills and interests. Each major is a bundle of 8-10 courses in the student's selected field. Students have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills important to specific economic sectors as they work towards meeting the requirements for their high school diploma.

SHSM – The Environment enables students to build a foundation of knowledge and skills focused on the environmental sector before graduating and entering apprenticeship training, college, university, or an entry-level position in the workplace.

There are a total of 16 SHSMs, including majors in Forestry, Energy, Agriculture, and Horticulture and Landscaping. More information is available on the website.
