TranscriptHello. Bonjour. My name is Kathleen Wynne. I’m the Minister of Education for Ontario. Today is World Teacher’s Day, and it’s a time for each of us to reflect on the positive impact educators and support staff have made on our lives, and on the lives of Ontario’s 1.9 million students. Each day, from before the school bell rings to after students have gone home, our educators and support staff work toward one goal and that is providing our children with a world-class education. Today, I want to thank them for their efforts and accomplishments in pursuit of that goal from the bottom of my heart. It is your capacity for caring and your determination to reach the hearts and minds of every student that gives our young people the confidence to pursue their dreams. [Repeat of message above] You challenge them to learn to the best of their ability and help them overcome obstacles to their success. You push them to their limits, and in turn, teach them that there is no limit to their potential. Our government has made significant investments in our schools, from buildings and resources to new programs and smaller class sizes. But it is educators and support staff who transform investments into results. And the results are outstanding. So, to educators and support staff across the province, you have my sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks for your great work. [Repeat of message above] Merci. Thank you. |
