Research in Education

Research is essential in a modern education system. It helps the ministry to develop policies and programs and teachers to improve student outcomes.

• Ministry of Education Presentations to the 2008 Annual Conference of the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE)
  The annual conference of the Canadian Society for the Study of Education is a bilingual event held every year in conjunction with the Congress on the Humanities and Social Sciences. Ministry staff attended to share the research and evidence we are using to help reach our priority goals.

  At the largest education conference in the world – the American Educational Research Association annual meeting – the Ontario Ministry of Education showcased how it is using research and evidence to bring about large-scale change in the province's elementary and secondary schools.
• What Works? Research Into Practice
  The research summaries in this collection highlight promising teaching practice at the classroom level. Produced by a partnership between the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat and the Ontario Association of Deans of Education, the articles are written by scholars at Ontario universities who are experts in the field of education.
