Minister's Principal Reference Group

At the June 2nd, 2005 meeting of the Partnership Table, the Minister introduced the formation of a new consultative body, the Minister's Principal Reference Group, to look at the role of the principal, bringing expert opinion from the front line in schools. The Principals' Reference Group provides insight, feedback, advice and recommendations to the ministry on issues and policies affecting schools and students. This information is intended to reflect the individual experiences and perspectives of principals and vice-principals.

Membership

• 20 members nominated from each of the three provincial principals' associations (Ontario Principals' Council, Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario, Association des directions et des directions adjointes franco-ontariennes)
• Principals and vice-principals who are members of the ministry's Ontario Public Education Network (OPEN) were given the opportunity to indicate their interest in becoming a Corresponding Member. Corresponding Members are provided with information about the forthcoming discussions of the Reference Group meetings and they have the opportunity to provide advice and feedback on the agenda items.
