Admission Requirements

Check Before You Apply!

Each college in Ontario sets its own admission requirements. Some programs may also have different requirements than others. Be sure to check before you apply!

If you are in high school

Students who have finished high school and have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (often called an OSSD) can apply for college programs. Some programs may also have other requirements in addition to the OSSD.

If you are from outside Ontario

If you did not attend school in Ontario, you will need to contact the college. You need to find out if your schooling meets the college's standards.

If you are 19 or older

If you have not completed high school, but are at least 19 years old, you are eligible to apply for college programs. Some programs may have additional requirements. Check with the college before you apply.

How colleges select students

Some college programs are in high demand. If there are many students who meet the admission requirements, then students will be accepted in this order:

• Students who live in Ontario
• Students who live in Canada
• Students who live in other countries.
