Business-Education Councils, 2007-2008


Passport to Prosperity is a campaign to get more employers involved in providing a range of school-work experiences for high school students, such as cooperative education, the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), school-work transitions, and job-shadowing.

In 2007-2008, there are 27 local, non-profit organizations working with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and the Provincial Partnership Council to implement "Passport to Prosperity" at the local level.

Business-Education Councils, including some local training boards, are helping to build partnerships between employers and schools to enhance school-work experience opportunities for students. These groups help connect interested employers with local schools. Contact the organization in your area, or the Ontario Business Education Partnership to find out which group serves your community.
