Overview

There are thousands of summer jobs. For more information about programs, call the Employment Ontario Hotline at 1-800-387-5656 or 416-326-5656. And check the youthjobs.gov.on.ca website or the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities site at edu.gov.on.ca under "Training/Jobs".

Information is available in the brochure Ontario Summer Jobs, 2006 (PDF, 1.6 MB).

The government is doing its part to encourage summer opportunities, but we're only one part of the job picture. There are also many exciting job opportunities with business and community groups.

While this guide focuses on summer youth employment opportunities offered by Ontario Summer Jobs, it does not provide an exhaustive list of the full range of services available for young people. For more information about employment assistance and programs, visit one of the following:

  • your high school guidance office
  • your university or community college student placement or career centre
  • the local Youth Employment Counselling Centre
