Early Learning

What parents need to know

Ontario will provide a full day of learning to four- and five-year-olds as part of the province's plan to support early learning and child development, build a stronger school system and contribute to Ontario's long-term economic competitive advantage. The program will be phased-in over time, starting in September 2010.

Check to see which schools in your area will offer full-day learning in September.

This investment in the education of our young children will have long-term benefits since it gives them a better start and a firmer foundation for future success in school and in life. Implementing the full-day early learning program in phases is a responsible and prudent way to ensure our youngest students and their families get the support they need for success.
