Earth Hour
What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is a call to action on climate change spearheaded by WWF. Individuals, businesses and organizations participate by turning off lights for one hour. This delivers a powerful message that everyone can make a difference in promoting energy conservation.
How did Ontario students participate in Earth Hour?
The Ministry of Education encouraged Ontario schools to participate in Earth Hour during the week by participating in energy conservation activities that reduced their environmental footprint. More than 500 schools registered to participate. Schools also committed to turn their lights off on March 29, 2008.
