Changes are being proposed to extend collective bargaining rights to part-time college workers in Ontario.

In August, 2007, the government announced its intention to extend collective bargaining rights to part-time college workers in Ontario.

A review of the Colleges Collective Bargaining Act (CCBA) was conducted by Kevin Whitaker, Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Public consultations were held in November, 2007.

A report including recommendations on proposed amendments to the CCBA was submitted to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities.

The Minister has introduced legislation based on the recommendations of the report.
