Smaller Class Size
More individual attention for our youngest students.
All parents want their children to reach their full potential. Reducing class sizes in the primary grades is a big part of our plan to help our children succeed in reading, writing and math.
Our goal is to reduce class sizes in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 to 20 or fewer students. To reach this goal, we have provided funding to school boards to hire more elementary teachers. More teachers and smaller classes mean young students are getting more of the individual attention they need.
Ninety-four per cent of primary classes now have 23 or fewer students; 65 per cent have 20 or fewer students.
